I’ve read a lot of book based on different myths ( mostly Greek myths). I think Norse mythology has to be my favorite. Like most people I like Loki’s sarcasm and pranks he pulls. I also enjoy Tom Hiddleston’s portrays of Loki in the movies. But as far as where he came from and the rest of the background to his stories and pranks I knew little about. ( I’m a bigger fan of Odin and Freya out of all the Norse Gods) 

That all being said. I LOVED this book. I thought it was funny and a great read. It brought some wonderfully funny and intriguing incite to why Loki acted the way he did and told stories from his side of things. I’m not sure how all this compares to the actual Norse myths but it did make me want to read more of the actual myths just to compare them to Loki’s versions. 

You got your wonderful mythology, humor, crazy antics and of course Loki’s poor me attitude ( He really does try to make it seem like everything his did wasn’t all his fault) I found this to be a fun entertaining read. It was rather long and wasn’t one of the books I could sit and read all night but I would enjoy two to four chapters a day. When I get a chance to read all the Norse Myths I plan on revisiting this story again.

He was a Reaper a soul sucker from the highest order sent to kill the Chosen One. She was a Keeper inherited a graveyard and souls to protect.






So I was excited for this book I love paranormal books and I liked how it had the whole paranormal Romeo and Juliet thing going on for it. Plus the cover was beautiful.




So Jack was sent to kill Lucy who recently lost her father and inherited the family graveyard. While Reapers have been down there before to try and suck up the souls of the dead they were usually easily ran off because of how many Keepers where in the Estmond family. When Jack got orders to kill The Chosen One who happens to be Lucy he couldn’t do it. He even went so far as to saving her from another Reaper trying to get the job done. Now other Reapers are coming to get her. Its a whole different game and it is one Jack tries to stay away from but when it comes down to it will he choose his strange strong attraction for Lucy or the family legacy?




Lots of action, romance, humor and sarcasm.






I liked this book and didn’t put it down till I finished it. I’ll be picking up the next book in this series.

Ohh.. I really wanted to like it. I’ve been wanting to read something by this author for awhile and I saw this was available in my library so I took a chance…. 

I didn’t like Harper. I just couldn’t and it had nothing to do with the choices she made I just couldn’t like the character. Maybe it was because everyone adored her or maybe it was she was kind of a hypocrite. 

As for the guys.. Well Brandon was sweet mountain of a gentleman while Chase was the tattooed bad boy with the artistic sweet side.. He was misunderstood. And you know what that is fine with me. A lot of stories have these guys and I enjoy reading those stories. I actually enjoyed reading about these guys. I think they fell a little to fast and a little too strong but whatever its the story. Carter, I actually liked Carter of course he fell for the beautiful ever perfect Harper and got hurt he made some mistakes and acted immature but I liked him in the end. 

I didn’t like the story. I’m all for second chance stories. Sometime they come off as sweet and you’re like “Yay! they forgive each other and are happy together now YAY!” but towards the end of this one I could have cared less what happened to these characters. 

I suppose the Happily Ever After ending was cute… I like those sometimes. I kind of wish Harper wasn’t a part of it but whatever she was the main character and I suppose no matter my dislike she deserved an HEA. 

I have to say at times though even if I didn’t care for this book it played with my emotions ( not as severely as some books but a little tugging here and there) 

I can see others enjoying this book. It has your love triangle. It can definitely tug at the heart strings at times. A big twist in the middle with a HEA ending. I just couldn’t get into it but I did finish it. 

I’ve heard a lot of good things about this author and I’m going to try another series she wrote when I get in the mood for this kind of book again. I really wanted to like this one but sadly I didn’t.

A Dirty Job was the first book of Christopher Moore’s I picked up and since then I’ve been hooked. A Dirty Job is my favorite book he has written so when I saw this coming out I waited anxiously to grab it up and read it. I ate this book up. It brought back all the wonderful character from A Dirty Job and of course my favorite Death Merchant Charlie Asher ( still not in his human form). 

Anyway, so the souls of San Fran are disappearing, the Emperor of San Francisco is being whispered names and writting them down ,Sophie’s “goggies” are missing and Lily is now working at a crisis helpline ( which the way she handles things is rather hilarious imo) 

I laughed all through this book. Stopped at places and repeated paragraphs and lines to my husband that I found too funny not to share and when I was finished I found myself quoting it at random times during random situations. 

.I love all this authors books. If you want to read a hilarious, action filled, WTFish, sometimes crude book pick this one up…. After reading A Dirty Job of course.

I enjoy a good paranormal romance ( I think this is more of an erotica than romance, can it be both?). I love reading about succubus’s, demons, and even vampires and werewolves haven’t exactly lost my interest. Coming in to enjoying all that I thought I’d enjoy this book more. It’s not bad its just not as interesting as I thought it would be. I do have to say though it was a quick and slightly entertaining read. 

I like the characters. I think this book was supposed to concentrate on Chloe and her vampire protector. It did a decent job of it but there was also some sidetracking to Chloe’s sisters. I didn’t mind Chloe some of her comeback and the things she did to make Tyrian jealous or to seduce him was kind of funny. I liked all her snooping. Tyrian was the brooding tough as nails dude who had something bad happen to him and thought he’d never be able to move past it. 

The side romance with the half vamp/ half demon warrior and the full vamp doctor was kind of cute the typical I love you but I can’t have you/ not worthy of you romance. 

Then you have all the other starts to the sisters stories on the side. Willow being chased by the alpha she was given to as a protector and Lily, okay I like Lily I’m really looking forward to Lily’s book she’s vibrant and says what she wants and she likes her protector and she annoys him. 

There is some action because the girls kind of let out a nasty demon which was going for Chloe. 

I think one thing I didn’t like was at parts the kind of read like gossipy cliche brainless girls. And there was one scene where I’m pretty sure one of the characters were raped. She said no at plenty points but I think when it came to it she didn’t say no but she didn’t say yes… Not sure I’m happy with that part but maybe I missed where she gave consent. 

Steamy scenes, cute and entertaining story, the characters were decent. I think this kind of falls under the first book in a series situation. You know where you kind of like it but kind of don’t but hope that it gets better in the next book and you are willing to read the next one. Like I said before I really like Lily and I am interested in reading her story so I’ll probably buy Willows out of curiosity and so I can get to Lily’s.

So I first came into this book thinking “ Maybe some kind of True Blood spin off type thing” but the more I read the more I realize I was wrong. I really enjoyed this book.

One I enjoyed reading about the politics between the supernaturals, the “ombudsman” and the humans. 

Two: Merit was an amazing character. She didn’t want to become a vampire she didn’t just role with everything that she was supposed to she questioned things and feelings. And I liked that she was loyal. Even if she didn’t care for the position she was in she was still loyal to those who earned it. 

Three: The relationship between Merit and Ethan is great to watch. She doesn’t give in to him no matter how much respect this 400 year old vampire demands of her and he mostly respects her and her thoughts. What he does as her “Master” was harsh but she does what her position should do and than at the end… Wow for some reason I did not see that coming. 

Four: Lots of humor.. I laughed a lot through out this book. I enjoy books with characters that kick butt and can have a good humor about things. 

Five: The whole world of what Merits grandfather does interests me and I want to see more of this. I want to know what happens between Merit and her brother ( if anything ) when he takes over their fathers position. I want to know what happens between Merit and Ethan, I want to know what happens with the Rogues and the Vampire houses and well I want more! I’m looking forward to the next book.

I really enjoyed this book. I was in the mood for a good urban fantasy that could draw me in and that is exactly what I got.

I like the way this author writes. I enjoy her stories and her characters. She does well with sucking me in emotionally and getting you fixated on the characters. This really is a cute story and I enjoy how it was written which was different from other books I’ve read. 

I loved how Fallon and Ben met and how every year they would meet. I enjoyed how they boosted each other up and wouldn’t let the other not achieve their goals no matter how much it hurt. At points my heart broke with them and at other points I was elated for them. 

I didn’t care for some of the things Ben said. I didn’t care for the insta love thing, and I was kind of disappointed I guessed the ending of the book as fast as I did. I think those who love New Adult books would really enjoy this. 

Its cute, Wonderful writing, cute young adult characters, a story that is unique ( at least for me), kinda insta love, lots of humor,heartbreak, quick read, a plot twist and a smashing ending.

A change of pace! Family friendly book that my boys and I LOVED.

I’ve been wanting to read this book to my boys ( They are 8 and 6) for awhile. They enjoyed when I read The Graveyard Book to them and I enjoy Neil Gaimen’s books so it was a win/win situation. 

We loved it. I’d read it to them before bed time and we laughed and made predictions and just had a blast reading it. Even went over my half hour reading time and into their bed time just to keep reading it. It was odd and just perfectly entertaining.The illustrations were wonderful and the boys loved looking at the pictures that went along with the story. The both said it is in their top 5 favorite books. 

My 8 year old ( 3rd grader) had no problem reading it and found it easy but fun to read. My 6 year old (1st grader )struggled with a few words but with a little help he was able to read it too. 

I feel I’ll be reading this again with them.

So I loved this audiobook. It was gross ,funny, intriguing and the narrator was perfect.

We get a look into cadavers the importance of them and their jobs through the years till now. The story is told with humor and so in depth about different aspects of the body after it passes on that I switch from laughing to gagging at points. There is such an interesting history about cadavers and what they were used for and how those who used them would get them. And then all the things that they are used for today. 

I’m not sure if the book had pictures but I’m glad I opted for the audio version because I don’t think I could handle the pictures.

Interesting read, made the history of cadavers intriguing and something I wanted to listen to even with the cringe worthy/ gagging moments. I’m defiantly going to be grabbing some more books/audiobooks by this author.

Been in the mood for romance books lately. So I started reading some that were just sitting on my kindle. 

This one was a quick read. I read it in one night. 

Reese was the rich girl who’s best friend was the typical not rich guy down the road. She’s been in love with Ace since they were young and she was best friends with his sister. 

Reese is sweet but I just wasn’t impressed with her. I was getting annoyed that she couldn’t see that she obviously was stringing Warren along ( Warren is the guy her dad thinks she’s going to marry because he comes from money and has also grown up with her) and Ace. She should have grown the balls and just let him go so she could be with the dude she loved and not the dbag a hole Warren. 

I adored Ace. thats it to that. He was way too perfect, sweet, funny and patient. He also didn’t feel he deserved someone like Reese.

Anyway cute friends to lovers book. lots of steamy scenes another book where the girl is a virgin and she just wants the right guy to teach her the ropes. semi-interesting other characters and I’d probably pick up the rest of the series next time I’m interested in a quick easy to read romance with some humor.

Its wonderful once in awhile to get a book that isn’t weighed down with romance or those steamy scenes. Plus I’ve been wanting to read a good Sci-fi/ Space Opera.

Lissa is a genetically enhanced humanoid and bounty hunter. She is also on top of the Star Federation’s list of most wanted.  

Lance Ashbury is one of the best in the Star Federation and is set on bringing Lissa ( The Shadow) in. 

I loved the world building in this book! Different planets! The ships! not to mention the different character species(?) and the cool arkins (cat like creatures with wings, I kept getting He-Mans tiger stuck in my head when I pictured them). The author goes into wonderful detail and paints the world and its characters vividly. 

The story was a wonderfully fast paced, page turning, action packed exciting chase through the stars. We have Lissa who is a pretty kick butt bounty hunter but she is doing it for a good reason. She is an unawakened NeoAndromedan and she would like to remain that way. But the Seventh Sun is hunting her down as well as the Star Federation. They want to try and make her into a blood thirsty soldier. Lance Ashbury a Commander in the Star Federation has to figure how to get Lissa and determine if she is indeed as big as a threat that the Star Fed’s think she is. Along with possibly trying to help stop the Seventh Sun. 

I’m trying not to give anything away, so lets just say I thought this was a wonderful action pack space opera filled with one heck of a cliffhanger ending. I’m ready for the second book in this series!

But when certain truths come to light and even more lies are exposed, I fear that I, Ollie Andrews, am the worst kind of monster of all. And, maybe, they should be hunting me.

Loved this book. It has an interesting take on the whole “werewolves”/“vampire” fantasy using a different mythological creature. 

Ollie has an interesting issue that her foster families had taken advantage of. She has fought them and fought a lot in her life. When Ollie comes in contact with a monster that feeds on fear she being herself fights that and finds her self in contact with some hunters from Fear University and the Dean of the university wants her, but for what reason? And is Ollies ability a medical condition or is it something else. 

This book has an interesting story, light romance, a kick butt humorous female, Some awesome dudes, plenty of action scenes, moments when some heart wrenching stuff comes forward,wonderful suspense and a cliffhanger that’ll make you excited for the next book. 

I picked it up and couldn't put it down until I finished it. It had me turning the pages until the early morning.

I usually listen to audiobooks about Linguistics or History of Human Language or something that I can’t see myself actually reading continuously but something I can put my brain in lecture mode and listen to while cleaning or driving. 

I chose this book for a lecture mode break. I loved it.. I loved it so much I wish I would have read the book but then I wouldn’t have been able to listen to Jenny Lawson read it and listen to her go on her tangents ( I hope those are in the book but if not grab the audio its worth it)

The author makes the most grandiose stories out of something simple that happened and I love it! I enjoyed listening about her social awkwardness and all the crazy stuff that comes out of her mouth. I enjoyed it so much that I would rewind it and make my husband listen to a chapter I just finished. But it wasn’t just the crazy it was also the deep sentimental parts that I enjoyed. 

I can’t tell you how many times I laughed out loud ( most embarrassing is when I was laughing out loud at the gym and had to look around to make sure people were not looking at me crazy. That happened a lot). How many times I just sat in my car after getting home just to keep listening. When it got to the end I was upset that it was over. 

I think the best part was not only the funny stuff that made me laugh but she was so darn relatable. Some things she talked about I was like “ Oh my gosh she gets me!” or “ We might have came from the same town.” . When she talked about her and Victor I could see some aspects of my husband and I. 

Funny, crazy, relatable, honest and sometimes heartbreaking. Excellent audible book. One I will recommend to anyone.
